The Fine Turf Seminar: A Great Success
The 2025 New Zealand Fine Turf Conference was staged in Rotorua in July, and did not disappoint for its attendance, seminar content, and trade show interaction.
While our own New Zealand team turned out to man the Living Turf trade stand, our Nth Qld based Technical Specialist Paul Looby took to the stage for 2 excellent presentations. The subject of Paul’s talks was ERI disease management and dealing with Turf Stress. Both topics are relevant to the NZ climate and were greatly appreciated by delegates. Good job ‘Loobs’.
Paul continued in New Zealand after the conference to work with our Regional Managers, staging mini seminars, group meetings, and client visits throughout the North Island. NZ Turf Managers are very familiar with Paul, and like us are appreciative of his deep understanding of plant pathology and all things turf. Not to mention his razor wit.
We were also proud to deliver another keynote speaker to the conference proceedings, chaperoning NSW Golf Club Superintendent Mark Parker to deliver 2 great presentations. Mark’s standout talks covered the recently competed reconstruction of the greens at NSWGC, as well as a thought-provoking overview of the variable depth green construction undertaken. The latter is certainly an innovative means of controlling moisture on rolling golf green surfaces, and the number of questions and discussion around the topic suggested it really hit the spot.
